For those who are not familiar with Mike Syring, he has been breeding Harris's Hawk since about 1986. By luck, I acquired the first HH he made in 1986 when the falconer who had purchased the hawk about 5 years previously, had health problems and I was the lucky recipient of that bird, Moon by name.

I have flown two more HHs produced by Mike including my current female Conchita. All have been excellent hunters.

And Mike, if you haven't been informed by your apprentice Kelsey, her passage female Red-tail took its first cottontail yesterday. Within the first 40 - 45 minutes, the hawk had gone in after quarry 4 times but had missed. Then it went in a 5th time but the only problem was that no one saw the hawk take the rabbit. Five of us spent about 1 1/2 hours searching for the hawk before it was finally found with the bunny and a giant crop. All that was left of the rabbit was perhaps part of the skull, backbone, skin, and hind quarters.
