Dear NAFEX members,

There is a huge influx of new users on this forum who are spammers. If you click on the "welcome our newest member" with a highlited user name, you more often than not you will see a name like Joebill3423489, and if you look at their profile they say they are from some state with no city listed, and in their signature will be a link to some outside website. I suggest never ever clicking on that website link. I have no idea if they are bad or not, but my guess is that some may contain viruses, or malware, stuff you don't want to mess with. I try to ban as many of these new users as possible, but I can't ban their IP addresses, only Chris can do that, so most of them keep trying to get in as users, and most probably end up on here. Just be aware there are people, or entities on this forum who probably have bad intent.

Thanks.

I delete around 25-50 spammers per week! Some of them can be creative with their names and links!

Thanks matt for the Kind words. I couldn't do it without the support of the mods and you guys. Its good to know that you guys do enjoy NAFEX.

You guys know Im not really a real person, right? In actuality, I am a computer virus that has infected your forum.

I kid, I play...

Or do I.....

All kidding aside, I echo Matt's post. If not for this forum, I would not have met Bill and Dave, and I am certain Id have had a much rougher time getting started up in this thing with all the people Ive met. Not to mention, the advice and knowledge on here is so good.

You moderator types definitely do a good job keeping out the spamming, trolling, bickering, and flame wars that so often pollute other message boards.

So good job, all of you!

Hey Bill,Ya still got that link,I'm only like an hour away from NY city. :D

I got an email the other day that was suposed to be from AOL.They said there was a problem with my billing info and I had to update it. Didn't sound right to me,so I called AOL. Turned out to be a bogus email to try and get my credit card info. I wonder how many people actually fall for it?

Even though an old thread are there not specific software programs for this type fourm software to automatically block them...........I can so a moderator a very similar fourum that stops spammers dead in their tracks and even post a daily total tally of those rejected. If the current forum software now does then then disregard. But if Chris L or a mod is interested in knowing more on what I am explaining then PM me and I will be glad to give the info needed.

Well let me see.... I post a lot of wise ass comments on peoples' threads.
I also call people on it when they say stuff about telemetry that is not entirely accurate. Maybe I need to try harder?
