Denzel black gyrkin

These are a couple pics of an imprint black gyrkin of Lance Christensen's that I flew his first season. I had been keeping him in a chamber for Lance and just had to move him to being tied up again due to remodelling where he was. He does look a little stressed with the open beak, it was warm that day and the first time he had been tied up in over a year. I wanted to get some pics with him weathering out in the lawn. He should go back to Lance soon. I've always thought he was a very handsome bird so named him Denzel -a good looking black guy.

I actually flew him during the 2009-10 season. He was one Lance wanted to keep and I already had 2 birds so he was flown on a limited schedule. Mostly just wanted to check him out and make sure he seemed good enough to keep back. I flew him on pheasant. Then in early January my wife fell on the ice and broke her ankle. After that I put him up, to concentrate on my other 2 birds and take care of her. Didn't want to put him at risk after that season. Not as much of a test as I'd have liked to have given him-but the best I could do under the circumstances. He was a nice big bird 39 oz., gamey and seemed fast, I expect as dark as he is he'll throw some very black hybrids.

If that were my bird, I would try to contact Denzel Washington and compliment him with this.

I think Mr. Washington would at least get a kick out of it.
