I bought a roll of UV-resistant medium knitted polypropylene netting for my bownet and have a lot left over. The netting is 6.5 ft wide and 1/2" mesh for catching english sparrows. $2 per foot.

I've been using it on my bownet for two months and I really like it - it is multi strand woven and is very durable.

Here is a photo of the netting on my bownet. The netting is a little springy, so I added two pieces of graphite arrow shaft stuck into the ground to hold it back. The net set up this way is super fast - I often catch 20+ sparrows in one pull - the current record is 28!
