View Full Version : Wire Haired Vizslas

Short version: we still have pups available from falconry only parents who have proven themselves by making us look good in the field.

Long version:Newts puppies were born over the weekend ( 8/6). We have 5 females and 2 males available.( ready in October)
This is the second litter for this pairing. Of 10 puppies from the first litter( many went to falconry homes), there are several great NAVHDA scores( NA testing), a search dog and a therapy dog. Neither parent is tested in NAVHDA because we honestly just don’t have the time, and some of the methods are not the same as some of the quirks used for training hawking dogs. If you are unfamiliar with the Wire Haired Vizsla, feel free to email me with any questions. Dad has one of the best coats Ive seen on a WHV and is a calm, steady, all day hunter, who steals the bed or couch when he gets home. He was my falconry apprentices first hunting dog and together, they manage to look pretty good in the field. Mom is a direct ( Netherlands) import from a strong dual champion background, and brings a lot of enthusiasm, biddability and desire to please. A good nose for all conditions and innate versatility round her out. Neither parent is a wide runner or hunts for any reason other then to make you happy-these are not dogs for the outside kennel and wont be the best sage grouse dogs in the world. However, if youre looking for a smart, intuitive family companion that makes a typical hunting day more fun and productive-this may be a good fit. They are not as “ sensitive “ as many of the smooth coated Vizslas out there, but they are still not a dog that needs any sort of hard training. Please don’t email if you think every dog needs to be force broke to retrieve and E -collars need to be on 24/7….this would be the wrong breed.

Other: Both parents are NAVHDA and AKC Foundation Stock registered. The litter will be registered for NAVHDA and puppies will be eligible for AKC. Parents ( and rest of pedigree) have good eyes, hearts and hips-both OFA and PennHip ( Dad scored “ good”, mom was “very good” and now has a ceramic hip on one side). Puppies will have dew claws removed, but will not have tails docked ( both registries allow full tails on the breed). They should be available early October and will be in Kansas at the sires house.

I can send more pictures, and pedigrees ( if you read Hungarian and Dutch).

We are moving right now and the kennel site is down for changes…, so please only use email mattavidan@gmail.com.
