Finally got a flip-pigeon set up actually up yesterday. Had a go trapping this afternoon - first afternoon. I read about half my book with no luck and was getting all ready to pack up and go home. One last flip - this girl came in and smoked my flip pigeon pretty hard - missing the dho-ghazza of course. I played with her for about another hour which was very cool. I eventually gave up as it was getting dark - she was still sitting in a tree. she's sitting on my flip pole here.

Hi Emily,

Are you hoping to trap a gyr to fly?

Steve

No plans for a bird this year. I am a newly graduated and hired teacher so i barely have time for the dog let alone training and hunting a bird. The trapping is just for fun out the back of the property that I am renting a house on. If I was going to fly a bird here it would be a gos though, not a gyr.

Hoping to get out again this weekend.

Hey - does anyone ever put a harness on the flip bird? That gyr smoked my flip bird pretty good but missed the dho-ghazza way too many times. I don't have a bow or a flip net right now (long story). I figure if I had had a harness on the flip bird I would have had her.
