Here are a few pictures of my female Redtail. She is an amazing squirrel hunter.

3 hours after i trapped her

Grey squirrel. Caused of death, suffocation. Chaos' foot was closed around the squirrel's neck lol. I had to climb the tree to get her loose from the branches.

She found a turtle and was really confused when she got closer. As soon as my bird got there, the turtle pulled itself in the shell

This is the most current picture of her. It is Mid July and her train is all grown in. She only has 2 primaries on each wing to drop also and a bunch of body feathers.

Thank you, and yes, she's definitely a keeper. She is the first bird I've hunted squirrels with, and not by choice. She surprised me with her first kill. I was trying to flush out some rabbits, but she had a different idea. None the less, I had tons of fun with her. Impatiently awaiting this coming up season.

How do you get your bird to pose for a picture like that ? That's what My Red Tailed Hawks feathers look like. He's not quite as far along though.

Thanks. Usually when i take her out to weather in the morning, she just spreads open her wings and tail. I guess she just enjoys the morning sun. Sometimes a light mist encourages her to do that also.

-These pictures were taken a few weeks ago. First week of July.

She seems fairly chill , is that the case or just the timing with the shots ?

She's really easy going. I rarely have any problem with her bating or getting spooked around people or things. So far, she has been really chill, almost as if she is a really confident bird. A sweetheart haha. But once she sees a squirrel or a bunny, that all goes out the window. Squirrel destroyer.
