Would anyone have a collection of images of the different phases of Gyr Falcon?
I am asking on behalf of a friend who is a bird artist, he is very keen on doing more work on these Falcons, but could do with some very good reference.

Many thanks.

Thank you Pete.

The artist is Ron Digby, and he is very keen to do more Gyr paintings.
Any more info from the guys that are flying/ trapping would be greatly appreciated.

Adam,
I have LOTS of images of gyrs, on quarry and on blocks, very dark to white and everything in between, most are 4x6 prints going back to the late 70's, but I can scan some of them and email to you. What is your email address?

Hi Ray,

That is very kind of you, they sound just the ticket, I am sure Ron will be pleased to see them. I will be going to see him in a couple of weeks, I will upload to a disc for him.

Looking forward to seeing them.

A quote from the first site you posted.
Status: Generally stable in North America. It has declined in parts of it's Eurasian Arctic habitat, possibly due in part to the taking of young for falconry. confusedd
