I followed a trail of road runner tracks through the snow a few years ago with repeated wing marks like this for about 400yds a few years ago. They ended with a redtail surrounded by a pile of feathers.:D

These tracks just show where a bird landed and walked or hopped away, still pretty neat though.

Those are supposed to be rabbit tracks.

Those are supposed to be rabbit tracks.

Sorry Bart, but they are not, unless a rabbit that had wings and came in for a landing and then hopped away. If a hawk caught a rabbit there, there would be more signs of a struggle. That is exactly what it looks like when my bird lands in the snow and the waddles over to get the lure.

I've seen the same story in the snow many times in the field around here...

Looks just like when a wild turkey lands in the snow and walks off.

Tom, I am sure your right. There is a caption at the bottom of the picture that says , Now you see the bunny, now you dont. I was kind of leaning toward this being photo shopped. So you think this is a real photo?

Photo looks real enough, in as much as a bird landed and walked away.... I see this all the time where pheasants, grouse, or other game birds land in new snow and start walking.
