Hello there, Everyone!

I have had a lifelong love of hawks and other raptors. When I was a little boy I always wanted to have a Red-Tailed Hawk to hunt with...now that I am an adult with a family, my daughters have expressed an interest. My 6-year old is very interested in Peregrine Falcons and we have been watching them hunt on YouTube. If there is anyone in our area of Florida that wouldn't mind us tagging along on a hunt to learn more that would be awesome! I am glad to have found this forum and I look forward to learning more and more.

Thanks,

Shane Ainsworth

Shane-

I watched a peregrine pluck a least tern from the water in Estero Bay last weekend (N. end of Ft. Myers Beach). If you are interested in observing wild peregrines you guys should make a day trip and check Bunche Beach and Ft. Myers Beach for peregrines. I also saw one at Big Carlos Pass in early December, so check Lover's Key State park, too. There are some American scoters and razorbills in Estero Bay as well, which is unusual for SW Florida if you are interested in those.
