Hi everyone, my name is Dan. I am 16 years old and live in Michigan. I have been studying a lot for a while now. How will I know when I am ready to take the test?

I want to learn more about falconry, meet other falconers, and find a possible sponsor.

Dan

Hi Dan.(welc)

Welcome to NAFEX. There is a bunch of great information here on the forums.

You can also check out the website for the Michigan hawking Club. We will be having our spring business meeting in April. At the meeting, we will be setting the dates for all our club events.

We have a falconers workshop in June that I would highly recommend you attend if you are interested in learning about falconry.

Hawking season is just winding down and it will be fall before many of us get out hawking again.

Best regards,

Hi and welcome. Just a clarification on the meeting in April, you need to be a club member to attend, for the picnic you do not, and as Kory said, the picnic is a great place to meet people.

Thanks for the welcome. To become a member do I go to Join The Club on the Michigan Hawking Club website?

Actually, I say anything about the picnic. I said that I highly recommend he come to the falconry workshop, not the picnic. I wouldn't and didn't suggest he become a member of the club so he could come to the business meeting. The business meeting doesn't offer much to someone who is wanting to learn about falconry.

I mentioned the business meeting in the context that we set the dates for many of our club activities. So, after out business meeting, we would have the dates set for many of our activities.
