View Full Version : Maryland Guys Picnic

Well while we are all nursing our lack of hawking wounds this summer. Tracy and I hosted our now annual Falconry Picnic. We couldnít have asked for more perfect weather with partly cloudy skies, a light breeze, and temps in the mid 80ís. All seemed to have a great time and enjoyed the BBQ and steamed crabs. We had a Falconer there with around 50 years of experience who had a bunch of collectables and prints he was willing to sell. Everyone jumped at the opportunity to purchase a few of these rare items. Also we said goodbye to our dear friend and fellow Falconer, Marcus from Brazil. He has been here two years on an officer exchange program through the U.S. Naval Academy. While here we had taken him dirt hawking and trapping a few times. He also did a lot of long winging as well. As a token of thanks and friendship we gave him a couple of giant hoods I made. We also gave him a picture of his family, which Tracy had taken at the VFA picnic last summer. He was very appreciative and expressed his joy in meeting and becoming friends with us. All of this thanks to NAFEX, thanks Chris! Marcus contacted my good friend Bill B. (GONEHAWKN) on here and thatís how we all met. All in all it was a day full of great friends, great conversations, and definite memory makers! Here are a few pics Tracy snapped. Enjoy!
