August 24 is coming up fast and the Raffle items are rolling in from our generous Vendor, Member, and Friends of IFA supporters clapp (if you find something to contribute, don’t forget to bring it).

A terrific surprise item for the Raffle: The just released 9th Edition of North American Falconry and Hunting Hawks – all 832 pages of it in two volumes! :)

The long range weather forecast looks picture perfect – Lo 80s and Sunny! :D

Your NAFA Directors Greg Thomas (Director at Large) and Dianne Moller (Great Lakes Director) will be in attendance. :)

The Fellowship, Programs, Food, and Raffle will be what they’ve been for over 4 decades – simply the BEST! peacee

I know there will be a pretty decent attendance from here in Kentucky this year. I know of close to ten from our area alone who are planning, or trying to get off from their jobs to be there. I was unable to make it last year due to existing commitments. I haven't been committed this year... yet!:eek:

Had fun. met good people, was very impressed with every aspect, saw lots of young upcoming apprentices and was particularly taken by how many pre-apprentices and pre-pre-apprentices were being responsible and methodical in how they handle themselves while assessing the sport intelligently before committing themselves. A very positive mood and informative speakers. I am glad Ehrler was both well behaved and well received in the weathering yard. I am pleased to say he is thoroughly enjoying the Northwoods Falconry gauntlet I won at the raffle!!!! Thanks to Northwoods for their support that made the win possible.

I would REALLY like to thank the guy whose name keeps escaping me from my addled old age and memory disfunction. This guy came up to me and handed me an entire male coops tail feather set for keeping Ehrler going this year. Dude... you are the best. I thank you... EHRLER thanks you.

"I want to thank you and your club for the wonderful time I had at the picnic. Everyone I met and spoke with was upbeat, helpful and a joy to be around. I am particularly impressed with the number of young falconers coming into the sport in your location. Overall an outstanding event I will continue to support and/or attend in the future. THANK YOU!!!!!"

With that ringing endorsement, y'all y'all (my southern friends tell me that's the plural of "y'all" ;)) put August 23, 2014 on your calendar next year for the Picnic (subject to confirmation) :D
