Not falconry birds, but thought the group would enjoy this set. Here on Long Island, NY we have had a huge influx of snowy owls this year. I found 6 in less than a mile stretch of beach. Most of them were within a couple hundred feet of each other.

Thanks for looking
Chris

Chris:

Apparently there are a lot of them hanging around Kennedy Airport as well. There were several TV and Radio news reports last week reporting that because of aircraft strike concerns the USDA was shooting them.

I've heard that Logan in Boston is also having an influx. But they are not SHOOTING THEM!! They are trapping them and re-locating them instead.

Just read where a Snowy owl was spotted at the Louisville airport.
This is a very rare sighting as they do not normally travel this far south.

David,
It has happened before. Since I work next to the airport I will keep an eye out for the bird.

They are here in Arkansas now! Pretty cool! Birders and Falconers lining up watching one in Little Rock.

Thank you for all the compliments. I have been finding at least one every time out. Today I found 3!

JFK finally stopped shooting them. They had 5 get pulled into engines and I think they reported shooting 3. Now they are trapping and relocating.

Body is a Canon 7D with a 100-400L. I shoot Av mode on birds. The f stop on these is f 8 and the shutter speed varied between 1/800-1/3200 at an ISO 400.

Great photo's Chris but may I suggest that you make your stamp smaller, it really takes away from those great pics!

Thank you. I use to keep it small and in the corner. I started finding my photography on other websites with out any permission or compensation, so went with a larger water mark.
