We have two started GSP pups available now.
Tarzan and George come from a wonderful kennel of talented German Shorthairs with sweet and easy going dispositions. Their sire is a German bred dog with excellent bone and a super temperament with other dogs. Their dam is a gentle birddog who loves to get out and hunt. Both have lovely conformation and all are raised with a number of other dogs, children, livestock and hunting hawks. These dogs have been running daily in the desert, gaining invaluable experience with a variety of wild and penraised game as well as the experience of the older, wiser dogs.
We selected Randy Randall’s kennel to purchase two, nine week old GSPs to train and sell as Higgins Falconry-Gundog puppies because of the wonderful job he does raising and exposing them when young. We searched for a couple of years to find a GSP breeder who focused on the same qualities that we prefer in our pups; cooperation, drive, style, gentleness, ability to manage their energy and be calm when the hunt is over, health, conformation, non aggressive attitude toward other dogs, friendly and outgoing nature with people and children, desire to trust, etc. These dogs have all of the drive and desire to make effective hunting partners, but they also have the wonderful quality of staying connected in the field.
These two puppies are being offered as Started Higgins Falconry-Gundogs. No pressure is used in the training of our pups and dogs.
They are available to join your family now!
Our Started pups have been raised in the home with children and other dogs. They have been started in housetraining and are crate trained, have been exposed to riding in the truck and have been taken to local ponds and the river to swim and paddle after waterfowl. They have been exposed to quail, chukar and pheasant and have been gun proofed and shot over. They have been leash trained. They have been fully vaccinated and microchipped. Both of these puppies will be ready to steady and take you hunting this fall.
If desired, we can finish their training to Steady to Wing and Retrieve, Steady to Wing, Shot, Fall and Retrieve or Steady to Wing and Hawk.
