Some pictures from hawking in Kansas for 7 days. I spent 3 days with Chase and his eagle. Then moved and met up with Bob and Justin, then was later joined by Isaac and Mike. Like all good falconry guests I am a little fuzzy on exactly where I was. I posted more eagle pics in Dexter's thread. It was great watching Chase and Dexter interact, they have an incredible bond.

Chase shared his fields with me. The first morning Natalya chased several jacks, one she bound to twice long enough to stop it before it broke away. That afternoon we flew her again and she caught the second jack flushed. I gave her a good crop on this, her first jack.

I had her a little heavy for the trip, so gave her a day off after the first one. Jack number 2 came quickly

After hawking with Chase I met up with Bob and Justin. They also shared their spots. Bob took me to a field where the cover looked so light that I didn't think there was any way a jack could hide out there. We barely walked into the field and flushed a jack that Natalya was all over. I think she caught it 4 times before she wrapped it up.

Nice Ross! I'm not able to do my annual road trip this year so it's good to hear about your trip and see some cool pics.

Another jack from the "empty field" The cover, or lack there of, is the short wheat seen through the milo. The jacks run to the milo.

My last day Natalya ended up catching a cottontail.

Fantastic photos Ross. I think if I ever take my ferruginous to a place that is wide and flat like that area I better have a dirt bike or something with me. How long were the chases before the birds connected?

Sounds like fun Ross. Nothing more exciting to watch than a determined gos after an open field jackrabbit.
