I've found it nearly impossible to wade through the Fl. Wildlife Management's rules as to owning birds of prey, any help with that, finding a bird, training would be helpful and appreciated.frus)

You have to go through an apprenticeship That means you have to find a sponsor. You also have to take a test and build facilities that will be inspected.

Are you wanting to hunt with a bird of prey or just have one and fly it?

Sometimes I wonder how it was even possible before the internet.

It's almost as if there isn't some kind of club or organization that publishes this kind of info online, complete with regulations and a few helpful links! Let alone two of them...

And this site too: www.themodernapprentice.com

Our regulations are set up to weed out those who do not have falconry and the bird's best interest as the top priority. Those who complain about the regs being 'difficult' to find or hard to understand may not be the best candidate to start the sport. Falconry is a constant learning experience.

First- finish your profile and sign your name. Folks like to know who they are talking to. Second- simple internet searches on falconry rules and regs will explain why you simply can not own a bird of prey. I would start with a good intro of your self and intent, I am sure things will become less "impossible" after that.

This gave me a good laugh. Reminded me of this. If there was only an organization dedicated...(Matt: I could picture you busting through a wall to do pushups after reading this.) http://thedailyshow.cc.com/videos/9fgyc6/marines-in-berkeley
