1st edition is signed by Ray and Andrew Haslen. Excellent condition.

2nd and expanded edition. Gamehawk Field And Moor. Excellent condition.

John Swifts Bibliotheca Accipitraria. Authors Edition with the four pages from Latham inside. This being number 25. Full leather. It is an exceptional book.

Any of these three books(or all of them) would be EXCELLENT additions to anyone's library. But John's book in particular is a REALLY RARE opportunity to own. The pages from Latham that Adam mentions actually came from a copy of Latham that falconer/author Humphrey ap Evans once owned. Each of the 40 books was hand bound by Jim Currier at Currier Bindery in Rhode Island. You can see examples of Jim's work at currierbindery.com. I have been to Jim's place and it's a first class shop. Again, truly a rare chance to own a GREAT book. I don't know how you can bring yourself to part with it Adam.

Hi Bill,

Selling these books especially Bibliotheca is tough. I have sold a lot of nice books and this one i felt I wanted to keep. But i am really in to collecting art and wages alone will not help me. These pictures are expensive.
When you look at just the cover of John's book, you can see the quality, then when you open it and see the Latham's inside, you know it is very special.
Here are a couple of additions to my walls.

This one is by Ron Digby. It was printed in the new edition of A Hawk For The Bush.

This is about the best i have in the way of art, Adam. I know you are/were aware of these, but do not think you have seen them. These are sketches by Lodge done for Mavro's 'Hawk for the Bush'. 'Brancher's' is done and seen exactly this way in the book. 'The Kill' is a preliminary sketch that Lodge did and gave to Mavro. I have them framed with a signed and dated letter from the previous owner, Larry Crowley, who got them directly from Mavro. For anyone interested, you can read about these pieces and Larry's adventures around Europe in his book, 'A Young Falconers Walkabout'. Sorry to derail your thread, Adam. All in good fun though.

Adam! That Lodge is just fantastic. Excellent acquisition. Congratulations! I had already seen the sketches that Bill acquired and I love the way that he's got them framed up. Thank goodness I haven't been bitten by the art collecting bug! (I only own one original piece from Wilde, one from Peeters, and one from Baumlin) My REAL weakness is books. Having said that, would you mind emailing me at mcneffscott@gmail.com and letting me know what you'd like to receive for the 1st Edition of the Turner, and what you'd like for the Swift BA? I may be able to snag them both from you if they're still available.
