THA Annual Field Meet

It's the time of year to consider attending The Texas Hawking Association annual field meet being held in Abilene on January 14-17th. Game numbers have rebounded in the area and all reports on rabbits, quail, and ducks are excellent. There's a nifty website for registration.

Our keynote speaker is Dan O'Brien. We were able to secure the rights to use the cover of Equinox as our image on meet t-shirts and hoodies.

Are we responsible for our own lodging for this event or does the $65 registration fee cover that?

Meet registration is still open for a few more weeks and going well. If you haven't registered for the 2016 field meet and would like to, please go to texashawking.info.

The hotel, the Emerald Inn in Abilene, is taking reservations and will hold rooms until January 8th. There are still plenty of rooms available, but the officers and meet chairs would greatly appreciate the membership booking rooms at their earliest convenience if they haven't done so already. The number for the Emerald Inn is 800-888-7666.

You are responsible. That being said, there's a bit of a discount at the meet hotel for attendees; I think you just tell them you're with THA.
