View Full Version : Falconry blooper
I came across this funny goshawking video today and I still can't stop laughing, even after the 20th time. No disrespect meant to the falconer, as I probably would have done the same...maybe not.

Last year we were trying to sneak up on a group of Canada geese up against a big glass building but the Harris' bated and they all took off. Two of the geese smacked into the building knocking themselves a bit silly so I took off running. They came to when I was about 20 yards out and got into the air headed right for me. I just stuck my hand out and grabbed one by the neck as it flew over me! rockon
In retrospect, perhaps the Harris' flushed them on purpose for me. I knew Harris' were smart but WOW. :D

Looks like a real dangerous place to fly your bird. I moved out of California to get away from that type of flying.

I wish we had a video of training a hybrid on pheasants. The first pheasant we thru out about 50 yards from the trucks. The falcon came down smacked into the pheasant and then the pheasant made a bee line flight to the truck and flew right into the front window and hid under the driver side of the dash.
It was the funniest thing I had ever seen.
