The thread about who all we have met on NAFEX got me thinking that when we go to the NAFA meet in Amarillo, it would be nice to know what members look like. Even though some threads have pictures of members, I thought maybe a thread with just the members NAFEX id and their picture would allow folks to look at it right before they go to Amarillo and have a fresh image of what others look like so they will recognize them. So I will start it off with the next post being me! :D

Here's one of me after a long day. Falconer, hawk and remote. There isn't much else to life. Well there is. My whole house smells of skunk. The mutts decided to see if one worked. I suppose they figured it out so the house would get sprayed while they got out of the way.

Don't let it fool you, I was on vacation in England, staying at a house that was built a couple hundred years before our great country was even formed, so I felt like I had to be a proper Englishman! LOL That is not the norm! Most of the time, you will find me in jeans that have briar holes in them and some sort of hawking shirt on that also has briar holes in it. Damn those briars! :D

It's a Barrett 50 Caliber semi automatic recolless sniper rifle. And yes this is the one that is often used by special forces. It's as heavy as it looks but has a built in Bi-pod that is folded in the picture.

Heather, I was out in Dodge last month with 2 goshawkers, the big joke was that I was in a gosfield most of the time. The tercel and hen Harris each caught a jack( I was afraid to hunt the two together due to her aggressive nature) The goshawkers caught the heck out of cottontails, but went home empty with the jacks. We had a great laugh. There are way more jacks taken in the fields of Dodge with Harris hawks, They rule!

Eric I would love to see more pics of your Harlan's hawk please post!
Conor, I consider you one of the best photographers on this site and have enjoyed so many of your pics that I will gladly oblige. I don't tend to take many photos while I'm hawking so the pics are scarce with such a new bird. I'll dig up what I can. A PFRT I had several years ago was a Harlan's also.....very dark bird. She moulted darker every year, flew her 5 seasons. Had no digital camera back then so I have no easy photos to post. Talk to you later.

Society for Creative Anachronism, type in SCA in your search, it is recreation of middle ages. You have a big club in Wyoming, The US is broken up into kingdoms and we battle each other. Lots of falconers are members. I joined because I like heavy weapon fighting, Its the fuedal system, fight to the top..you would like it!!;)

Most of the peeps I knew are in an old foggies home on the beach laying in a chair with an umbrella having a hot young thing in a tiney bikini bringing them frosties while they watch the migration :).
I'm a Harris lover, yes flown other birds, hawks & Falcons but love my Harris's, but wouldnt mind trying a male Bonelli's for a season.

I live in Idaho. I prefer Peregrine Falcons. I have flown mostly passage birds the last 35 years, mainly Prarie Falcons. I still feel Peregrines are underated, and over trained. There are some very nice little Rocky Mountain Anatums that fly with some real style and guts. These birds are willing to tackle most anything and fly a decent pitch and can weight as little as 23 ounces. I used to be a Peales fan, but no more. Snappy little birds with agressiveness. Busting Mallard wings and heads. Flying them down with speed and agility. I moved from California because I wanted to fly falcons. I flew many a Cooper Hawk on quail and a varirty of quarry. My heart is set on Passage Peregrines now, or at least wild Peregrines. Rick

I just have decided to put up a pic of myself and the bird I am now flying (a tiercel Gyr/Prairie). I am grateful to the board for learning so much from all your experiences. I look forward to fruitful years of hunting and training my birds with useful information garnered from you all. I thank God for you all for sharing and posting all your pics.
