Hello everyone,
I am from Southern IL. In my early 20's and I am attempting to get my start in falconry. Where I'm from hunting is a part of life,But it's pretty much bows,shotguns and trapping. I enjoy it all. I have raised game birds
in the past, From an early age I've been very enthusiastic about birds of prey . But hunting with raptors. It's pretty much unknown around here. Getting information on it isn't the easiest thing. I managed to acquire a beginners book on falconry. Published in the U.K. As you know you can't just jump in and go to it here. so I'm hopeing to find a sponsor as close to my area as possible (God willing). I contacted the great lakes falconry.
Haven't gotten a responce yet. But first things first.
I'm pleased to meet you all ,Hopefully you might know someone near southern IL. At the very least I'm sure to get plenty of information here.

Welcome, there is alot of hot air here but alot of excelent knowledge also. Not to mention people are pretty nice and are willing to help out where possible. Thanks Stephen

(welc) Travis: I am sure you will hear from the Great Lakes Falconer Assoc soon. Look under falconry vender's etc. There are lot of places to get books and other item. There is a lot of good information on this forum. Contact you State game agency for a copy of your State Reg. They maybe on the GLFA web site. Have fun
