thanks I love taken my camara with me I have a camcorder now can't wait to record sme of the hunts.when I first started hunting ELE he would not chase squrriels,he would look at them run by him and would not even attemp to to try and catch them, after a few weeks of feeding him on them and using a lure with them he figured out they were good to eat. With time and practice he has turned into a great squirrel bird there are not many that meets Ele that will live to tell about it.can't wait until this squrriel season he was good this past season and will only get better.

What kind of snake is that? I have always been a little afraid when I am flying a red tail that it will get bit by a rattlesnake. the pic is just wicked cool though.

OK wise ass! It's actually Okatee not okate, or red rat snake, or latin name Elaphe guttata guttata. Elaphe means deerskin in Latin, and guttata translates as spotted.toungeout:D

From wikipedia:

"
Okeetee Corns (classic corns, originate in the South Carolina wildtype) These snakes are characterized by deep red dorsal saddle marks surrounded by very black borders. The ground color varies with bright orange being popular amongst breeders. As with the Miami phase, selective breeding has changed the term "Okeetee" to an appearance rather than a locality. Some on the market originate solely from selectively breeding corns from the Okeetee Hunt Club.

yes we had a great hunting season wish he would leave the snakes along I really don"t like him catching them but he can spot them a mile away he caught a Pigmy rattlesnake did'T EAT BUT HE KILLED IT.THINK HE was just mad cause the squirrel we were after ran in to a hole in the tree.for a bird that would not catch squrriels at first will now not miss to many and will hit a nest in a heart beat and foot it apart...can't wait until hunting season he saw one out his mews today and was runing back and forth on his perch wanting to get it and he is hog fat for the molt..rtsqrl

any one from GA?

Hi Amy,

I live in Georgia about 120 miles north of you up Hwy 23 just outside Eastman. I flew a FRT that I trapped last September 1st and she did pretty well on squirrels this past season. She really figured it out about the last month of the season and I believe will do well this year.
