I believe it's limited to members since THA is paying for everything, campsite and food. I could be wrong, however anyone can join THA and I'm sure there will be membership forms there.;)

Krys, it is not limited to members. We had at least 4 prospective members there last year. One even wrote an article for the OTW after her experience.

It was indeed a great time!!! And a BIG thanks to Dustin as well. He made 10 portable indoor/outdoor bow perches to give to the first 10 apprentices that showed up! I know they all appreciated them and it was an awesome gesture, Dustin!!!!!!

I will get pictures up soon!

I am just getting started in falconry, but after meeting so many new people, I can honestly say, I am very lucky to have found all of you.

Dustin, thank you very much for the perch. I could not wait to put the rope on once I made it home. I found a great website, showing how to do it. So far so good. It still is staying on. I can't wait to have my first RT on it. For anybody who cares, here is the website: http://www.themodernapprentice.com/perch_wrap.htm

Michael, you did an awsome job on your presentation. Thank you very much.

It feels great seeing so many truly dedicated people. It is just like Mark said, falconry is not a hobby, it is a way of life. I am glad I finally figured out what was missing in my life. :D

I met so many great people, I don't know really where to stop, but I have to mention the THA president, John. I feel you are not just the president of THA, you are the guy that has his members first in mind, not your title.

My wife and boys loved it too. As a matter of fact, my youngest took more pictures than I did.

This is not meant to brown nose anybody, just really feeling that good about it, or maybe I am still just that drunk.....

Sorry we missed you, Ed. They had a new parking policy this year. There were several people that turned around and left. You should have called someone and we would have come and got you.

LOL Yeah, when I first picked him up, he kept biting at my shirt. He was nibbling my finger, but then decided to bite hard. Later on he reached over and bit the crap out of my chest, too. I think he was hungry!:D

THA,
Thanks for welcoming me to the summercamp Saturday. Sorry I couldn't stay longer(and enjoy the food), and sorry for taking up valuable parking space that prevented other members from being able to attend.

I've already got a couple of falconry books orderered for 'learning' material. Already learned nictitating(thanks Mike Beran). Hope you don't mind me hanging around and listening to hawk talk in the future.

Thanks,
Gary Cain - Tyler, TX

I'm already tired of waiting on the books to come in that I've got ordered - would someone put a video on youtube reading William Oakes or other falconry books and I'll just download it to my laptop and maybe we'll get a whole book on audio before too long(with the author's permission of course).

Looks like I'm very lucky to live in a hotbed of falconry with so many members living in the east Texas area(Shreveport included).
I've already have done some leather work(made a saddle, halters, harness for a draft horse) but with every new trade there are new tricks to be learned. Thanks Michael for showing how to make the leg thingies for the birds(I'm still ignorant of the terms). I'm already eyeing and figuring how to make hoods(someone please stop me from this-ha).

Thanks all for including me in your association. Yall've got me staring up into the trees on my drive to work looking for hawks. What's next?
