Pete shot some video of the merlin this morning. Not any real good flights today, but I thought I'd share with those that are still waiting on their birds to finish the molt.
She usually cranks pretty well after dove, but wasn't really feeling it this morning--you can see her give up on one pretty early here. The last bit shows her dogfighting with a kestrel (she's the one doing the chasing at this point)--that went on for quite a while and they got as far out as 1/2 mile or so (and up).
Anyway, hopefully we'll try again soon and get some footage that shows more of what she can do--for now I'm not complaining because hey, it's still August!
