this summer hasn't been to bad no 100 days yet. We have had so much rain that all my spots will be heavily over grown. But more cover means more game.

Kelly:
I have seen a lot of rabbit in town. The only place you fine rabbit in my
area is in the thickest cover, crap you can't even get through. I will try
hunting these spots once or twice during the hunting season. I just say [smilie=bs.gif] you never get to see the flight if there is one, and in most
cases the bird misses anyway. Glad to hear it has not been in the 100's
yet.

I still want both state and fed out of MY mews. Apprentices may need guidence but I don't. Everyone they have sent has less knowlege than, and cares less than I do. Where else is a civilian inspected in our society?

I like your idea. I think structure should not be the issue. Every bird is different, every location different. Maybe look to see that its sufficiently clean, big enough and the bird looks healthy. But even then, will they know the difference or agree on the standards?

As it is, we have requirements for the stuff we must have. But many of us also use other things. Is a bow perch on the lawn legal? There is no law against it as long as you have the appropriate facilities. Do we haul a weathering to a meet?

I was asked to write up a training program and document for our DNR. But as I discussed it, I realized that it might be interpreted as too limiting. Where if someone's mews or leash didn't look like one of the pictures in the guide, they may fail inspection where they are perfectly legal. I discussed it with some senior falconers an they agreed it was best to leave it alone.

if nothing else we can always tell those tree huggers we are state and federal inspected and approved.

Note the difference between the Inside and the weathering area. Inside has barred window................ Weathering are has wire but could also have netting per fed regs.
