we've been chasing the hell out of gray partridge here. Today was kind of a bust. Only one pheasant showed himself. He stumped my gos but it was a great day anyway. Beautiful country, good friends, good hawks and good dogs. Just thought I'd share a photo or three.

No but I'm working on it! Tomorrow we are going pheasant hunting. I'm really getting into the Hun hawking though. I like the open country, my dog and hawk like the little buzzing birds. They are pretty challenging I have to admit.

Carlos: Have you tried driving some of the back roads between Ronan and Hot Springs, along the Bitterroot? I'm not sure of the pheasant population there anymore but it used to be good.

There is a site south of Ronan as well. Nine Pipes?? Nine Mile?? that had lots of pheasants as well.

Are you at the Polson end of the Flathead? Bill
