Hello to all. I am new to this forum and to falconry. I also joined the International Falconry Forum to learn as much from you all as I can. I am still a "book falconer" and will remain so for a bit till I'm ready to take the next step.

Lou, where in NC are you? There is a spring picnic by the NC Falconers Guild at Hanging Rock State Park on April 24. It would be a great time to meet local falconers!

Hello and welcome to NAFEX Lou.

Please have a look around and familiarize yourself with how the forums work. One forum that most people find the most useful is the site information (http://www.nafex.net/forumdisplay.php?f=26). This is where you can learn to post photos (first thing almost everybody wants to know).

Please take the time to go to the introduction forum (http://www.nafex.net/forumdisplay.php?f=20) and tell us all a little about yourself. Also please take the time to go to user cp (located on the left side of your screen, near the top) and add your signature automatically to your post, real first name at a minimum please. This helps keep things friendly around the threads, as people will know who they are talking to.

Again, welcome to NAFEX! Let one of the moderators know if you need anything.

Hi Fred
I am in Fayetteville NC, but unfortunately am not in the country at the moment. I will be back by Sept/Oct time frame. Will love to join the NC club when I'm home, and learn as much as possible.
Thank you for the information though!

Thanks for all the friendly welcomings to the site. It is much appreciated. I will familiarize myself with everything on the site. Dont have much to say as I'm observing and in the learning process, but will post some pics as soon as I can figure out how, about the Indonesian Falconers. I am currently here and spend some weekends with the guys of the Indonesian Raptor Club. Am fortunate enough to see the Javan Hawk Eagle being trained and readied for release back into the wild at some point.
Regards Lou

Lou, we also have a fall picnic and it is usually sometime after trapping sesaon start, which is September 4th in NC. It is a great picnic to go to because folks trap on their way there and you get to see a bunch of newly trapped birds. You can keep up to date with all of the Guilds activities by going to their website (http://www.ncfalconersguild.org/) and get all the information you need for joining the Guild and becoming a falconer in NC.
