I just wanted to introduce myself, I've been lurking too long and wanted to join in. My name is Rob, i've been a falconer for about 6 years now, you all know the obsession... I am on my third redtail and we usually hunt cottontails or whatever moves, he is a rabbit stompin' machine! I live in Katy, Texas which is just west of Houston if you know the area, hunting places are disappearing but i still make it happen with my RTH. I am one of two falconers in the Katy area, Jim Hodge one of the authors of "FALCONRY EQUIPMENT" is the other and he was my sponsor... I think i was lucky... We don't have many falconers around here maybe 15 which is not many for how big Houston is. Hope to meet and hunt with some of ya'll soon... Rob Evans

Yeah, I haven't posted on my breeding lately. Guess I need to get an update going.....

Have you got your bird ready for the season? I'm hoping to get out for the first time this afternoon or tomorrow.

Welcome to the forum, Rob.

You will definitely have to make it to the meet in Abilene. The Fort Worth area falconers will also be having a Halloween Mini-meet that will be announced probably the end of September. You should try and make it up for some great hawking and socializing.

Thanks Rob. I will have to delay my trapping a little...I am having knee replacement in the next week or so. But I am hoping to trap as soon as I can walk! Luckily I have lots of people around that are willing to help me out!!!
