Hey Brian, you are correct about not being able to find one locally. They are so hit or miss. I was shocked that many people from the quail state didn't even know what one looked like. I had to resort to buying my pup from Michigan and having him flown out to me. The breeder has a great rep for breeding awesome hunting dogs and upon arrival my little pup was already retrieving. He cost a pretty penny though. $600 I think it was and another $250 to ship him out here with crate. I plan on getting him started this fall as being a versatile hunting dog and hopefully enter him into a breeding program with other falconers and hunters to strenghten his line toward being an all around hunting dog.
