Tim, do you give advice over the phone. I have a friend who is flying a tiercel peregrine in his fifth season that has a swelling on one foot. Bird has been flown hard on ducks this year and is her first bird. She has done an awesome job with him. He was hacked at Lynn Oliphant's project and she is frustrated. Bob Rafuse
  2. Paul, Good luck. I'm pulling for her. Tim

Thanks much Tim. I'll keep you posted. I concur about the fresh air. Ill med her in the morning. Let her free loft in the day in her mew, bring her in at night, nebulize, feed and put her up on a screen perch in the house. If she makes it, shes gonna hate me big time. Ill deal with that bridge at the time. Again Thanks much. You are the best.

    Good Morning (afternoon) Dr. Sullivan
I dont wish to take advantage of your generosity but my vet, no fault to her, decided to go on vacation. I did line up the meds and wished to run the procedure, as starting today, by you.

    Finnish Female Gos, @1250 gr.
    Voriconazole: 1x daily, .16 ml (100mg/ml suspension)
Lamisil: 1x daily, orally at 20mg per 1000g of body weight
Nebulize: 2x daily with 250 mls distilled water, 250 mg Lamisil, 1/2 ml of 10% Mucomyst

In addition I'm leaving her in her GH with crushed pine needles other than the time I have her out for food and water. I am trying to admin meds in the morning with first nebulize, and feed her in afternoon so to hopefully avoid vomiting.

Again, i cant thank you enough for your generosity of time and advice and regardless of the outcome will be forever in your debt. I intend to post this protocol so other falconers can add it to the multiple experiences and thoughts about asper.
    Yours in the sport,
    Paul Bird

    Hi Dr Sullivan
Not sure I posted these right so excuse the repost if thats the case. Quick question: The recipe for nebulize, is it in conjunction with or in lew of the Voriconizole? How often nebulize? Thanks so much for your help.

    Hi Dr. Sullivan
I was hoping to ask you a couple of questions. I have a 2.5 year Finnish goshawk that went off her food and behavior a few days ago. I took her to the vet and she did blood and gram stain. She was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in crop/ mouth and some form of respiratory fungal infection based on breathing and listening to lungs. first thought is Assper so she recommended nebulizing her with amphotericin B and started her on itraconazole while we wait for Vorconazole to arrive from pharmacy. The bacterial infection she is treating with Baytrill. Ive read your posts on asper and Lamisil and am wondering if this is plan we are on is the best plan of attack.
Thanks so much for your time.

Hey man, a friend recommended I message you.
I have a Tiercel Tundra that has fractured his beak. The fracture runs up to the top of the ridge. Is there a way to bond it to stop it from cracking further? Any help is appreciated. I'm located in Ar.
I'm cutting his food into prices but if he picks at anything I'm afraid it will get more serious than it is.
    Thanks, Chris Price

hope you don't mind me asking a question thru here, but I figured I would give it a shot.
I trapped a very small passage male AK a little over a month ago from day 1 every once and a while he would be standing with his far right talon on his right foot under his toe then he would bate and it would straighten again and look like it was fine no damage, no swelling or anything ,but for the last week its been staying closed if I open it it goes right back. Now,Yesterday I notice the same thing starting to happen on his left foot to his hallux. any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks Rob
