  1. Hi Rick, Yes, brown/Grey is usually the sign of possible Cocci and if the solid matter is spread out. I would purchase some appertex from Foys Pigeon supply. Two tablet each day for 3 days will get rid of them if they are causing problems. Also, pick up some Worm out and give two tablets each day for two days. This will clear her out and set the stage for good health and performance in the months to come. If you see a discolored mute from time to time, do not worry too much, unless all the mutes become off color. The Weather is now turning cooler and a good time to get her in the Air. You do not want to go too slow with her, as you need to keep a good steady progression with her to become a good Game Haw,

Brian, I have my female Gyr/ Per home now....training is going well. Hopping to the fist without any reluctance and starting lure training next week. I have been feeding her the Boyds Quail only that I have been obtaining from Jeff. I have noticed some variations in the mute color...mostly a deep brown. Today, she had a yellowish mute. Everything esle seems to be quite normal. After a little online research about raptor health they had a similar looking mute from a female peregrine that had "strongyl"...evidently some kind of equistrian worm. Not sure if this is the case. Any advice from you is always appreciated. Rick Mayo
