Might I suggest a MP3 player attached to cheap external battery powered speakers and some calls you can download from the web? This spring (March in some cases like a Gos), roam areas you think hold the species you are after. The MP3 player will entice them to leave cover and seek you out. Once you know the species you are looking for is there...narrow down the location of the nest. Note, use the MP3 player sparingly as they will soon ignore it and hide away so they don't associate you with the MP3 player. Also, once on eggs they will be less likely to venture forth. If you can't find the exact location of the nest and get a brancher...then try your BC in early fall in the natal area near the nest habitat...the young ones won't have ventured far. Hope this helps.

How is the season going so far? Are you having any success with rabbits?I have been doing some trapping with still no luck. I have been able to shoot a 14pt bull moose with the bow. One shot from 15 feet. I also got a coyote and 12 Partridge, all with the bow.
I would trade them all in for one Red tail on the trap.

Have you ever tried trapping in your area? I have been trying for a while now with no success. Haven't seen hardly anything worth the effort. When I do see birds, they are near busy streets and it would be almost impossible to try and set a trap anywhere near.
