Hello from Canada!
Hi there! I have a friend who flies a Red Tailed Hawk, and through talking to him and meeting his amazing bird, I've become really interested in trying my hand at falconry, but know I have a TON to learn and research first, which is why I'm here! Hoping to learn a ton here!

Welcome aboard! I hope that everyone here at the forum will give you a nice warm welcoming, and help you out with any questions needed! If you are very interested into taking the sport, make sure to check out falconry clubs and buy tons and tons of books! :)

Thanks! I'm still just in the very beginning stages of research, definitely won't be doing it this year, but next spring is a possibility. Right now I'm reading as much as possible to see if this is something I feel I can handle, as I don't want to jump into anything unless I'm confident I can 100% provide a bird with all it needs. Going out with Neil and meeting his hawk has me VERY interested though. I've always loved raptors and been fascinated with them, but actually getting to meet an interact with one, and watch Neil work with her, dang, that is awesome!!! Even if she wasn't overly fond of ME, LOL.

But, even though she refused to come back to Neil unless I was at least 10 ft away, she DID condescend to allow me to hold her a few times, lol. :)
