Introducing the bird to the dog and vis versa

I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to introduce my 1.5 year old GSP to my new bird I will be trapping this year. She has not seen a bird of prey up close before. I will be trapping a red tail and hope to work the two together on rabbits and squirrels. Obviously GSPs are bird dogs but I am an apprentice so I can't fly a bird on feather yet. She is well tempered and pretty good on obdeinece training. What are some tips or things to avoid when introducing the two? I have an idea and have gotten some information but looking for more.
