Briana I've thought about this a while now and am just curious, why are you wanting to raise them together? Personally I have never imprinted two of them together though I have done a bunch of...
Froghorn,s half brother.............
My thought as well Ron. I would be more fearful of the jesses becoming the weapon of demise , and have saw first hand how they can hang up. In fact I sent a goshawk to a friend in Canada several...
BTW I did say zip tied directly to the leg (tarsus) w/o anklet. There is no danger to the bird done that way, and I've done many sharpies for many years that way w/o a single issue.
"Tried the back pack and cut it off twice. Did not like it for him at all. He didn't like it either he didn't fuss with it but I could tell a difference in body language while he had it on. I...
Actually it's the tarsus if you want to get pricky about it.
Zip tied to the leg isn't an issue for sharpies... Good going!!

I may be raising a pair or three of males goshawks together and trying a dual/triple hack with them. There has been some interest in this by perspective buyers and it is intriguing to me also. ...
Bob those are all common issues with folks that tail mount. Many years ago Luksander and I had a long conversation about this... The common fault was 1) trans fall off because of the spring tension...
I suppose that could happen...noidea. I did forgot to mention a drop of cyanoacrylate glue on a un-oiled deck.
The more i think about it, there are two issues to a pulled deck. One the transmitter...
Single deck feather tailmount w/ small transmitter. -0- failures in over 20 years. I have found one of the biggest mistakes those using tail feather mounts comes down to the installer not mounting...
Got it Ally, he looks great that said, my goodness please do something about that transmitter, it's a disaster waiting to happen.............
For some reason I can't see the photos.....
Hmmmm....I'm thinking you need to lower him...
[QUOTE=Ally;250386]. We're building up to full RP's but I've never done them before and he returns to the fist after a bate towards the food more often than not. I *think* what I'm doing wrong is not...
More times then you'd imagine... not to mention while hawking.
I've got great neighbors, I hawk on all their places, and they are ever vigilant to keep an eye out for my hawks. A couple that...
I am with you on that Pete... .......
Jeff, I'm so sorry to read this.... As the breeder of Apache I was more than over joyed to see how well he did for you. You both were great examples of what dedication, and consistency can do. It...
I'm a believer is s--- happens, and I can see a goshawk spearing it's self or getting a wing wedged along the wall... If you give them enough opportunities to injure themselves eventually they will.
Instead of feeding him on the lure toss small tidbits (walnut size) for him to chase and eat. Once this is established, toss them in very shallow warm water( 1/2" -1") in a bath pan. Usually only...
Actually once they start finding tennis balls out in the field you switch them to ten dollar bills. Every little bit helps...........
Actually a tennis ball makes a great lure. Cut a small "X" in it and poke a hole in it. Run a line with a big knot through the "X" and out the small hole. This is you line for swinging. Stuff your...
Cream of the crop...probably, or maybe someones hand me down:D. Where did you get him?
Ding, Ding , we have a winner!! You did good to rememberthumbsupp Have you seen Geiger's female yet?
