Thanks, that makes the whole 'pallid falcon' thing make sense.
What's the story with this piebald peregrine? CB or wild taken or? Never seen or heard of this in a peregrine before, kinda neat looking!
Hi Matt. I grew up just outside of frederick. You have some great RT trapping and even better squirrel hawking opportunities!
Don't pay 500 for that book.....way too much. $200 is closer, but the prices will drop again hopefully. Funny that NAFHH is going for more than desert hawking II or imprint accipt at the moment!
Hi Josh,
WA has a pretty active state club with a picnic and 2 meets per year. I would suggest tagging along to those as they are a good place to meet people. Most people I've met so far in WA are...
Sent you a PM
My girlfriend and I (both falconers) are down in Pullman.
thanks
Thanks for the info. Any idea why they didn't catch when slipped together?
Jeff,
What problems did you run into with the cast?
I would do the waiting on flights, but where i'm moving the only real source of consistent slips would be urban stuff, not anywhere where the bird could take a pitch to get a slip. If opportunities...
Hi Guys,
Hope everyones doing well. My season is going OK, working with a passage RT that I trapped late in the season. I'll get some pics of her up eventually.
Anyway I wanted some advice for...
Doesn't that say it all?
Really? I didn't know that....i'll have to do some thinking then.
Yea i know it....
If they'd open it up to nonresidents you'd get more people putting in for the peregrine....at least one anyway toungeout
No real interest in a CR's pricetag, i made a post on that thread. Feel free to lock this if you want i was bored and looking for an interesting topic to discuss but it ain't really important.
I thought about a chamber raised bird, just doesn't interest me as much, especially the price tag. Imprints are cost of gas, plus i like being able to mold the final product more so than with a CR. I...

How did things go? Do you think your bird came out as planned or did ya end up like this?

I will not deny the fact that she may have the same thing happen as soon as you start hawking, i'm just saying if i'm trying to make a bird to a particular quarry i'd rather at least be able to go...
Perhaps i am completely wrong in my train of thought on this, but personally i don't see a reason to imprint a bird than hack it. The main advantage i see with imprints is you mold them to hunt HOW...
Lee, before this year i was never one to ask for help. I always thought i could figure it out. Perhaps i am just stubborn. This was the first year i truly shut up and listened, and it was the best...
My advice after raising my bird-
Find someone who's done exactly what you want to do, and done it well, at least a few times. The more they've done it the better.
Follow their advice almost...
Goose and I worked out a system. I hood him slower than normal, he is tethered, and he eats a big crop everyday with no noise other than his "hey how ya doing?" when i first get there. We've found a...
