Any time some net service is "FREE" I wonder just how fiendish their method of making money off of me really is.

With most of them, the fiendishness ends at running ads in front of your eyeballs while you are on their site. Some of them get moderately to extremely obnoxious with the ads. But ads are a time tested way to fund free media, such as the moron box in the corner.
