These photos were take by my friend Joe Spoo on Christmas. The temps were single digit and the wind was 15-18mph. We went to a spot on some public land about 2 miles from my office. First we flew "Rikka".

There were a large number of pheasants in a willow bat about 300 yards from some standing corn. Unfortunately with the big flock they started to flush while we were still quite a ways from the cover and she wasn't very high yet. She chased several into the corn. Then wanted to wait on there. We still had birds in the willows so waited her out she came back and stooped a couple into the willows.

after at least 8 chases, they were mostly flushing wild when she was out of position, she had one attempt to bail into light cover. She hit it as it put in then caught it on the ground. Notice the frosty eyelashes.
