Hello My name Is Richard Everest.
I live in Farmington, New Mexico in the city limits. Why I am here I'm looking to get in to falconry. My dad, my mom and her cousin have all been master falconers.
Its a great sport that helps preserve these beautiful birds of prey. I would really much like to be a part of. What I would like to get out of the sport is the feeling of a passage falcon you have trained For him/her to make its first successful hunt. And for the bird to trust you enough to come back to your glove when called.
My dad has not had his masters license for over 15 years now. So I'm looking maybe to be lucky enough to attend a few hunts and really get a good feel for it before I seek my apprenticeship.
I have been reading up as much as I can. I know it takes a lifetime to learn and I'm willing so if any one knows of any good articles or books I should look at please let me know and thank you.
