    Default Imprint Prairie male or female ?

    My new Prairie for this year is 23 days old and weighs 560 grams.
    Do you think male or female ?

    Sounds like a tiercel. My hard-penned prairie weighs 750 gms at "fat" weight.

    Just weighed my tiercel prairie at about 40 days and he's 560g. I think you got a male.

    Hi Michael,

    If prairie falcons are anything like peregrines, their growth will not begin to deviate until after day 25. At this age, weight will not likely tell you anything. Do you have any pictures?

    23 days? 560 grms empty....... Female. My last tiercel topped out at 540 grms at 50 days. He flew at 420 grms

    weight has been stable around 580 grams for two days.
    I think it will be a male.
    My male from last year flew 570 grams.

    Sometimes you can tell by the head shape, males tend to have a more round golfball shape, females more wedged.

    Man I wish our male prairies here in the states were that big. Your saying your last male flew at 20 ounces?

    Yes. And his brother is flying at 610 grams (21,5 oz.)
