One thing I forgot to mention. I love Sampo swivels. I've used them for as long as I've been keeping and flying birds. However, the main reason I went with a figure 8 style swivel the last couple of years is because I like keeping my birds tied on perches, on sand. With a simple figure 8 style swivel, there is no way for sand to get inside and potentially, even temporarily, cause the swivel to bind and stop turning. This was very important to me and is the reason I will continue to use a traditional, figure 8 style swivel.

    All my best.

What’s your point. Just because I copy and pasted it vs typing it out. That and I was having trouble remembering the names of each. Hell its been 18 years since I left the field. Glad you took the time to look it up and your smarter now because of it Mr. Holmes. Smooches!

What was this thread about? Do I need to bring a magnet with me when I buy a swivel?

Only if your looking checking for the cheap ones, that are made with cheap knock off Pakistan stainless. Unless your looking for true surgical quality stainless, then you will need a couple different ones.
