Exclamation NAFEX 2012 Dinner and Raffle - Kearney, NE

Its time again to plan for the 5th Annual NAFEX dinner and raffle. It blows my mind how fast 5 years have gone since the 1st one. I am really looking forward to this years dinner, they keep getting better and better. As always, the raffle is free and there should be plenty of falconry gear to raffle off. You do have to pay for your own dinner, the past dinners have run about 20 dollars. I have not decided on where to have the dinner, the date for the dinner will be November 20th

    Location: The Chicken Coop
    Time: 5:30 PM
    Date: 11/20/12

The Dinner will start at 6pm sharp.. Orders will be taken then

    Chicken Coop
    215 A Ave
    Kearney, NE 68847
    Phone 308) 338-8500

    Web site :http://www.chickencoopsportsbar.com/Kearney/index.php

Please do participate in the poll if you are going to attend the dinner. It gives me a good idea of how many will be attending.

I will post when I decide on the venue location. If there are any locals that know of a great place please PM me and let me know. Rex from vernal really helped me last year and it was great to have a local resource to find a good place. Thanks again Rex for the hook up last year!

If you have not been to one of the NAFEX dinners you are really missing a great time. Its fun to put faces with the names. Everyone that comes to these is there to meet others and share in good times.

I look forward to seeing the repeat offenders

Please click the link below to see what the past NAFEX dinner/raffles were all about. http://www.nafex.net/forumdisplay.php?f=25 ( the past 4 years are all stickied at the top)

** If you have anything you would like to donate to this years raffle, please email me or PM me your item. Anything is greatly appreciated**

If you ask me, you'd have to be crazy not to make the raffle! Seriously, last year some schmuck apprentice won a falcon and has been the subject of about a thousand state farm jokes since that time.

Wait, that was me. Yep, I'll be there.

Chris- i don't know what it is yet, but I'll be bringing some sweet falconry schwag to donate to the raffle as a token of my appreciation for last years bounty.

The first NAFEX dinner I went to was, I believe, the first one and the wasn't a raffle so this will be my first raffle and I am really looking forward to it.

Hi Paul. Not much to report yet. Unfortunately I didn't get her until 3 weeks ago and she was FAT! I've been bringing her down slowly so she doesn't crash on me, but I'm thinking today could be the day she finally hits her response weight. If that's the case we'll start training with real intent.

I'll start a thread and post some pics here shortly.

How's that gos? Are you gonna make Kearney?

Chris, you missed Mike's donation (post #14)!

I just received 2 leash systems from Mike and I can't tell you how much I love his braided equipment. Both of my birds will have his stuff on at the NAFA meet.

I'm going to certainly try to be there! Finances are giving me hell this year and it sure is sad when you don't even know if you'll make it to a meet in your own state! Lol. If I make the meet, I will certainly be at the NAFEX dinner!! :-)

what's a sport kilt? I've only worn the fold up/over the shoulder type... for those who need a visual, like in Braveheart/Highlander type.

Rich, It's a wanna be kilt with pleats all the way around and elastic around the waist. Google sport kilt. Not a pretty sight for those of us who actually have a tartan and wear kilts.

thought so, I worked in an Irish Pub & we of course went all out for St. Patrick's Day, but I also did Rev War re-enactment w/ a guy who wore his ancestors Black Watch tartan, and rendevoused with a couple Scots w/family tartans and old, old Claymores swords, and knives all over. We snuck out of camp one night and went to a local bar, in period dress. The door guy checked us for weapons, had em everywhere ^ stopped him at 6. When we staggered back ta camp, guess where his "participant ribbon was tied???? which has nothing ta do with thread's original path, & in the words of Larry the Cable Guy," Lord, I apologize..."

If anyone knows of a good place near it I am down for that. I really wanted to do the one across the street but its to small. I may see about getting a shuttle to and from so people don't have to worry about driving. Not sure yet?
