WRTC annual Field meet-

When-
January 19 to 22, 2008

Where- El Dorado, Kansas

Info-
There are good restaurants in the area. The hawking is phenomenal. The date for the extended duck season here in Kansas has been posted. For our area in southeast Kansas it is 19-27 January 2008. Ducks are in plentiful supply, plus a good number of pheasants and bobwhite quail. Remember, this is the heart of the greatest concentration of prairie chickens in North America. There are cottontails, and if you want to drive 3 hours for a day of jackrabbit hawking we might be able to arrange it. Keep in mind that Kansas has a Walk-In Hunting Access Program (WIHA) which provides hunting access to private property with over 1 million acres enrolled in the program. A WIHA Atlas is available at hunting stores where hunting licenses are available. You can get your non-resident license online at www.kdwp.state.ks.us or pick one up at the Walmart next door to the Meet hotel.
For those who might wish to trap a prairie, merlin or ferruginous, please contact Tonya Urban, Fisheries & Wildlife Falconry Coordinator, at 620-672-5911 or email her at tonyau@wp.state.ks.us.
Bill Murrin has some outstanding ideas for guest speakers.
