    Default Pred8tr 2

A little early but new for 2013 the Pred8tr 2 hood. This new pred8tr is based on my original pattern with the back tongue to prevent feathers being pinched but I have added a more universal beak opening for hawks and accipiters, an Off-setting colored throat slash and a Raised Sewn Center deck.
Pictured is the " Field Pred8tr" a tooled and Multi colored version will be available soon. The hood pictured is the first one I have made and is for sale for 55.00 plus shipping it is for an average Hen red tail.

    Default New hood

    Hi Ken,

I like the look of this hood and it's changes.

Would be nice if you had some photos of it on a hawk.

    Hey Ken,

yeah Finally made it home safe and sound. It seems when I go on vacation it takes me about 2 weeks to finally get caught up. I hope you made it safe and sound too?

I too had a blast, it was great to meet you and Ambrose! Thank you for wanting to come out with me, it was great to have you guys along for the ride. You guys made my NAFA trip one to remember, I sure hope we can do it again soon. You know you always have a place down here to come visit. Please keep in touch and don't hesitate to call if you ever need anything. Tell the french guy to send some pics when he traps that prairie!!! He also left his pink handled wire snips in my truck...he kept trying to say they were mine but I know he slipped them in my hawking vest. .

Thank you for all you donated to the NAFEX dinner, you really went above and beyond and I can't thank you enough.

keep up the great work on your hoods. You always are adding new styles and products to your line and I always enjoy seeing what you have created.

Very nice looking hood. I like that. Just from a learning standpoint. How much do you think you had to adjust the pattern to add for the clearance of the back flap?

Thank you Mario, I have been making my original Pred8tr hood for years but wanted to make some changes to it. It is cut slightly different, different beak opening than my original and blocked much differently, the throat slash and raised center deck also change the look dramatically.

Ken, I sure like the way this hood seam slopes back at the angle allowing any need to adjust a gape cut. That's a great advantage over some that simply cannot be cut. A hood was brought to me for adjustment and I could not cut any since the stitching was right there. Nothing could be trimmed from the back since the first brace slit in from the edges were too close to the edge. You get the picture ! Couldn't do a thing for this " too big " hood.

All is great here just busy as usual. I have about 5 projects going and never enough time to finish em . The breeding season was good. I am glad it over though, I'm ready to start flying again.

How about you? How's life? The birds molting out? You and the brose need to come visit! I hope you both are coming to CO this year?

Thank you for posting your hoods, it's always fun to see what you have made.
