    Default Hello from North Carolina!

Hello my name is Chad, I have been a member on here for a little while now. I have been reading and learning a bit from everyone. I passed my state test and passed my mews inspection. Very excited about going out and trapping my first red tail with my sponsor this weekend.

Welcome to NAFEX Chad! Who is your sponsor? Also, I hope you meant next weekend and not this weekend as our trapping season doesn't start until Aug 1st. Also, if I were you, I would discuss with your sponsor about your plans for the season or sort of an outline or timeline of how you think your season will go. The reason I recommend this is if you trap a red-tail Aug 1st, you most likely will have it ready to hunt by at least Sep 1st and our squirrel and rabbit season doesn't even start until October 15th, so what will you do with the bird for a month and a half? Just something to think about!

Oh yeah, are you coming to the NC Falconers Guild picnic Sep 6th? Hope to see and meet you there!

My sponsor you actually know. Without his consent I'd hate to toss his name out. But as a hint I was at Dewitt's farm this weekend

Let us know if you find something worth trapping. I am only seeing Haggard RT around here, except a few. I prefer to trap 4-5 in a day so that I can be pickey about the bird I choose. I like big girls with big feet in a red tail because of the jackrabbits.

Saw only 1 hag rt. My sponsor spotted a coop eating a bird. Not much action right now.
