Hello from central South Dakota

Falconry is a sport I've been fascinated with since middle school but I always thought of it as something reserved for books. I read what few books I could find but that was the extent of my experience.

After high school I joined the Army then went to college. I worked in Sioux Falls for almost a year before I got what is very nearly my dream job.

I moved to Pierre last March for work but mostly because there are few places in the world that have better hunting and fishing.

I cover the outdoors for the local paper. Through the course of my work I met a pair of local grouse hawkers. Now I'm in the very early stages of starting my apprenticeship. I couldn't be more excited.

Welcome, You are right in that few places in the world offer better falconry than Pierre. I made a trip up there a few years ago for grouse hunting- beautiful country with lots of game. Enjoy the experience!
