I have a Female Peruvian Aplomado, 2013 hatch (hatched and "dual socialized" by Jim Nelson). She has been working as a blue-berry abatement bird exclusively, she flew at the tail end of the 2013 harvest and I flew her during the the whole 2014 harvest.

As some of you may know, I had rough abatement season; one bird shot and another fell ill. This bird is the soul reason I was able to finish the contract. For the last two weeks, I worked with her 12 hrs a day, seven days a week. Her hunting skills as well as her "cooperation" with me really honed in.

She became an exceptional bird at lure stooping, car hawking, and just basic walking and following. Very friendly not skittish, no biting or bating. The only time she has ever been vocal is when she was exposed to some screaming immature aplos...and that was a month ago...nothing now but happy chirps

Of the five Aplomados I have trained, this bird was by far the most fun and pleasant to work with. While she was an awesome abatement bird, I think she would make an even better game hawk...She goes crazy whenever she sees a quail or a cotton tail (which she would often catch). All and all, just a really awesome bird.

She is currently molting nicely... she'll be done in a month or so.
I can hold her with a deposit.

$2500
