Molded Anglo Indian Hood

Here is my new hood style, the Molded AI Hood. I will offer it in a one color and a two color hood. I was looking at Jim Nelson's book, Hoods, Hooding and Hood making and there was a photo of a Jim Osborne Molded hood from the early 1990's that had a pleasing second color added to it. My pattern is almost identical to the Osborne hood pictured so thought I would add the second color like the Osborne hood.

The hoods are bonded making them very affordable, the one color hood will be 40.00 and the two color will be 45.00. I will be offering my Pred8tr hood in a bonded version as well, same price.

Trying out some new dyes I recently received on my molded Anglo Indian hoods. Hard to tell from the photo but the gold metallic dye just "Glistens" in the sunlight.

Hi Ken,

for many years I used anglo-indian hoods that I made myself and moulded to a degree.
They were nothing like the quality of yours, but a good anglo-indian pattern takes some beating in terms of fit and comfort, and in those days, when good dutch hoods were as hard to find as the hawks on which to use them, there was nothing better.
They look lovely.

Hey Tony I agree I have always preferred an Anglo style hood to a Dutch style. And I am not saying anything negative about Dutch hoods. It is just my personal preference. I like the fit they offer.

Beautiful hoods! I've been starting out making some goods, and using the glue method. Is it leather you use for the inside to glue or a different material? Hard to tell. But I've been using kangaroo leather to "connect" the pieces together with Contact Cement heavy duty, I'm thinking of changing to Cement glue (honestly not sure if they are both the same!) as the contact cement sticks, but gives me a difficult time attaching the pieces together.

Hello Genova I use sheep skiver as my seam liner. It is tissue soft and paper thin. I am thinking "roo" might be too thick.

I sold Mike some sheep skiver a few years ago, he may still have some? Western Sporting carry it also. It can be hard to find.
