    Default State Regs Links?

As you might already know, we are currently working on a new website for NAFA. The regulations for each state page on the current website does not have the links for each state updated. If you all could help me out and post a link to each states DNR page that has their regs, I would be forever grateful. Please look through the thread and if your states link is already listed, don't post it again. Please try and provide a link to the page and not directly to the pdf file because if the regs change, the regs page won't but the pdf file will and it will lessen me having to update a states link after changes to their regs, if you can understand what I am trying to say. Thanks!!!!!

The NAFA site has links to every state.

    Fred,

There is already an index of state regs on NAFEX. You are duplicating that effort.

    WA falconry regs - http://app.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?cite=232-30

I am well aware of the other thread but it isn't up to date so rather than add more to it, I figured I would just start a new thread.

Fred, I can't find a link in anything other than a pdf. Maine has stated that you can request a copy if interested, but doesn't provide a link to the regs. On the other hand, our state falconry club website DOES provide a link, and that is on this page, http://www.mainefalconry.org/

As you know,... I'm not the most computer savvy guy on the block, so maybe you can find something else.

    Yes, really. its here: http://www.nafex.net/forumdisplay.php?f=40

Its not completely filled out, but its a place for Fred to start without trying to get everyone to duplicate their efforst by posting here two.

Of course, he could also start with the data already on the NAFA website and just ask for updates with the links that are broken.

your right, I was being an ass. Its your project...

I had been reading this at work, where I deal all the time with people needlessly creating work for others that could be quickly done themselves and it rubbed me the wrong way. Sorry.

No problem Geoff, I was dealing with QN's all day (if you are in aviation, you know), so I can relate! LOL

Ok folks, really working on the Regulations page on the new website, I can look each one up but if someone has them, it would really help a lot. Just a reminder, I don't want links to the pdf file of the regulations, I want a link to the page that they give you their link to their regulations. That way if they ever change their pdf file I won't have to go in and change the link and you will still be directed to the page that they have the link on. I am rambling. See the examples above. Sorry! LOL

Scott, on this page (http://www.maine.gov/ifw/licenses_pe...ting/index.htm), they state:
Falconry License: A falconry license is required in addition to a hunting license for a person to engage in falconry. Copies of the regulations pertaining to this type of hunting are available upon request.

If I were you, I would contact them and ask if they could please post on their website the falconry regulations. I don't see why someone has to contact them to get a copy, tell them to do their job. LOL In the mean time, I will just use the link you provided. Thanks!

Thanks for all the links so far, I have updated all the ones you have provided. Please go to the new website page ( http://n-a-f-a.site-ym.com/?page=RegsStates ) and check your state's link. If it is a pdf file and you have the link to your DNR's page with that link, please send it to me. I am going through each one alphabetically and looking them up but if someone post here, it will shorten the process for me. If I have put something on there that is incorrect, please let me know. NAFA wants anyone needing this information to have it readily available. Again, THANKS!!!!!!

Hey Fred, you have a typo on the Indiana link. It should have the htm extension instead of htmf.

Ok, I have updated all the links to the regs page on the NAFA website except for Arkansas, New Hampshire, New Jersey and South Carolina. If anyone can direct me to a page on each states wildlife divisions website that will take me to their regulations, please do so. I have tried to find them but have only been able to find pdf files on the state falconry clubs websites.

For all the other states, please click on your state and if you can't find your regs, let me know so I can try and update the link to a page that you will be able to find your regs on.

    THANKS!!!!!!

Here is the FL link from FWC's webpage. Not a lot of info, gives links for more specifics, but it should allow access to correct reg sheets as they are updated.

Florida Falconers also take note as of 2014 new regs to cover road trapping went in to effect and are both confusing but specific.............may want to read twice.

Specific regs for road trapping. Keep a copy with your permit if stopped and asked why so close to road.

68A-4.008 Taking Wildlife on Roads and Rights-of-Way Prohibited.

    (1) It shall be unlawful to take or attempt to take wildlife (except for the collection of amphibians or reptiles without the use of a gun and the take of raptors per Rule 68A-9.005, F.A.C.) on, upon or from the right-of-way of any federal, state or county-maintained road whether paved or otherwise. Taking or attempting to take wildlife (except for the collection of amphibians and reptiles without the use of a gun and the take of raptors per Rule 68A-9.005, F.A.C.) while such wildlife is on or upon the right-of-way of any federal, state or county-maintained road whether paved or otherwise, is prohibited.

    (2) Federal, state or county-maintained roads may be specifically excepted by Commission order. Requests for the exception of certain roads from the provisions herein shall be made by formal action taken at a public meeting of the County Commission, and may be granted upon affirmation by the County Commission that the following criteria have been met:

    (a) Roads or portions thereof subject to exception shall be unpaved, and shall not be scheduled for paving for at least three (3) years from the date of request.

    (b) Roads or portions thereof subject to exception shall be no less than two (2) uninterrupted linear miles in length.

    (c) No exception shall be made for any portion of road which lies within 3/10 of a mile of any dwelling, church, school, commercial building or other occupied structure, or which lies adjacent to the boundary of any property, the owner or lessee of which objects to the proposed exception.

    (d) Roads or portions thereof excepted under the provisions herein shall be posted, at the expense of the County Commission, with signs at intervals of 500 feet or as otherwise directed by the Commission and shall include the phrase: “Right of Way Hunting permitted: The ________ County Commission and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.”

    (e) A determination that the exception would not endanger the public, livestock, crops or other property.

Prior to final action by the Commission, the Commission staff shall furnish a recommendation on the proposed exception to the County Commission which shall review it before a public meeting and then advise the Commission of any public comments or concerns.

    (3) All federal, state or county-maintained roads within wildlife management areas are open to the taking of wildlife except perimeter roads adjacent to or outside of such management areas. Federal, state or county-maintained roads within management areas may be closed to taking wildlife by use of a gun by specific management area regulation.
